sounds like he’s playing around with you! maybe you shouldn’t be taking it so seriously. if he starts to act really weird though, take him to the vet.

When you used to do it when he was a pet, had you went with him outside, or all you used to do was open the door? He may be inviting you to go outside to play with him… Think about it. He is in a very important age now, if you don’t give him enough attention, he will learn it over and will start to care less about you too.
